The Borrowers are a diminutive species of people created by the author Mary Norton. In the first book 'The Borrowers', we are introduced to the Clock family, a family of tiny people who live secretly in the walls and floors of a large house and 'borrow' from the people (or human beans - as they call them) in order to survive.
We read all about Pod, Homily and Arrietty's adventures and wrote our own sequels - The Borrowers at School.
Here is the start of Millie's:
The Clock family had been seen! This terrible occurrence had led to a series of unfortunate events...
While fleeing from their now unsafe home, the Borrowers had come across a convenient rabbit burrow, which would serve as a temporary abode. However, after living there for a few days, they quickly realised that this was not the home for them; it was cold, damp and smelly and Homily hated it. The Clocks were desperate for a new dwelling - somewhere they could call home.
After weeks of searching, Pod stumbled across the perfect solution to their housing problem - a local primary school.
Things were looking up for the family of three!
