Week beginning 6th July
Hello Year 5,
It has been lovely to see so many of you over the last two weeks when we have been having our video calls. You all look really well and it has been great to hear more about some of the things you have been doing to keep busy! You are working very hard and should feel proud of yourselves.
Some more of your projects have started to make their way to us via the class emails or quarantine box and we are very proud of the effort you have put into completing your projects to a high standard. We have seen a variety of ways you have produced your topic of choice - lots of you have been very imaginative and creative. Some of you have already had the opportunity to share your project ideas with a group from your class and this will continue this week. We are really enjoying hearing about them, as well as seeing them - very well done!
Remember that there is a Book Quarantine box outside the school office. We really want you to keep READING! You can drop off your books and email us to request new ones.
A big well done to all of you who took part in the TT Rockstars tournament (it was great to see the vast majority of you doing this), which was incredibly close with only a 350 point difference! Well done to Willow for taking the win! Special mentions go to Charlotte E, Isaac W, Rory, Sarah, Harry J, Aoife and Mollie for the top scores.
Below you will find this week's grid with the Home Learning tasks on as always. This week is slightly different in that we are now starting to direct you to some transition tasks that your Year 6 teachers are setting for you. Go to the 'Classes' page and you will find your Year 6 transition page at the top. We have also set you other tasks as normal but note that we have only asked you to complete the first 2 lessons on Oak Academy for English as one of the transition activities is a writing task.
You might also be interested in joining some of the assemblies on Oak National Academy. They explore a variety of topics and have inspirational speakers too: https://classroom.thenational.academy/assemblies
All the resources you need for this week are attached below. We’ve included some extension tasks too.
As always, stay safe and take care,
Mrs Missin, Mrs Graham and Mrs van Rooyen
