Daily message from Mrs Whirledge

Good morning.

It is May Day today. It is an ancient festival of Spring and a traditional holiday in many European cultures. Dancing and singing are usually part of the celebrations. We talked about maypole dancing in assembly when we were listening to music for dance a few weeks ago.

We will have our Bank Holiday next Friday as we also commemorate 75 years since VE Day (Victory in Europe) when the war in Europe ceased in 1945.

With less traffic and fewer flights, the garden birds have been much more noticeable.  Have a look to see which ones you can see outside your house. Listen to hear their songs.
