Tomorrow is a special holiday for VE Day- Victory in Europe -which marks the end of the war in Europe on 8 May 1945. On that day 75 years ago, Churchill, the war time Prime Minister, addressed the nation. The King and Royal family celebrated. It is believed that our Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, left Buckingham Palace with her sister, Princess Margaret, to celebrate in the streets of London.
It was a day of celebration, but it was not the end of the war, as hostilities continued in the Far East. In the UK rationing continued for many years too.
As you spend the day with your family, I am sure that you will see, and hear, many other details of that day on the television and social media.
I hope that you enjoy the day.
