Welcome to the Redwood Class page. This page will hopefully help you to learn a little bit more about your new class and what to expect when you come back in September.
My name is Mr. Radburn and I will be your teacher in September. I have been teaching at Melbourne Junior School for seven years, since qualifying as a teacher in 2013. I am the school's Art co-ordinator and I also oversee School Council. I can often be seen wearing unusual fancy dress around school. Perhaps you remember me appearing as the Big Bad Wolf in our 'World Book Day' assembly?
Excitingly, we will be joined by a new teaching assistant in September. Watch this space for an introduction at a later date.
Welcome to your new classroom. Admittedly, it currently looks a little different to how it would usually look, as it is set up as a 'bubble' for some of the children who are in school at the moment. There are usually more tables and a number of comfy chairs which you can sit on whilst doing some silent, independent reading.
What to expect in Redwood Class
I love teaching and believe that it is important to have a positive and relaxed classroom environment, where everyone enjoys their learning. In Redwood Class, the pupils often sing, listen to music and celebrate each other’s achievements. Also, having studied Art for several years at college and university, I love to share my passion for the creative subjects with my pupils.
If you or your parents should wish to contact me before September, you are welcome to call the school and I shall return your call as soon as I am able to. Alternatively, you can send me an e-mail at our class address - firstname.lastname@example.org. I am also available for 1:1 or small group Microsoft Teams meetings. If you'd like to participate in a meeting, please send a request to the Redwood e-mail address.
