Science Week 2022 runs from Friday 11th March until Sunday 20th March. The theme this year is 'Growth' and we will be starting the week with an assembly on Friday 11th March, asking the children to think about growth in their everyday lives, the natural world and within different scientific fields. We will be discussing how 'smashing stereotypes' is an important part of growth in science and how amazing scientists are normal people from diverse backgrounds. The children will be discussing all of this further in their classes and they will then be producing a poster about any aspect of growth to enter our school competition. There is one prize per year group so they will be encouraged to be as creative as possible in their thinking and presentation of the poster.
Some teachers will be setting homework linked to the growth theme with a choice of different activities to complete. If you or your child would like to do more science at home, linked to this theme, you can click on the British Science Week activities pack below or on the Primary Science Teaching Trust link below to access 'fun science at home'. If you do any of these activities, we would love to see photos of the results! We hope that the children will have a fun, exciting and thought-provoking week!
