Year 6

There is a TT Rock Stars Battle between Year 5 and Year 6 from

1st - 8th June

Morning Everyone!

We've set up a blog page on PurpleMash so that we can all "talk" to each other. Click the Sharing tab, then choose Shared Blogs, followed by Year 6 blog. Check for messages from us, and add your comments or messages. It's a great place to tell us what you're up to - or to ask any questions. We're looking forward to hearing from you!

Our Year 6 children are preparing to take part in the Rainbow Hospice Carol Concert at Derby Cathedral on 4th December.  We have been rehearsing with Rachel from the Derbyshire Music Partnership.

We have been learning about Anne Frank, reading her diary and writing our own extracts. Here is a picture of a display of our work inspired by Anne's story.
Our Year 6 children visited the  National Holocaust Memorial Museum at Newark.  We were very fortunate to hear from a Holocaust survivor, Simon Winston.  The children then explored the story of the Kinder Transport through the 'Journey' exhibition.

In September, Year 6 took part in music workshops provided by the Midlands Music Partnership.  As Year 6 are studying the Battle of Britain this term, the music workshop focused on musical themes from WWII.

Welcome to Year 6 2019-2020.
