The visit to Cadbury World proved very popular with Year 5!. In addition to the opportunity to taste chocolate, they learned about the history of chocolate making and how it is produced.
Today, we have had a visit in school from a fabulous poet, the Word Guerrilla. He started the day with a brilliant assembly and then delivered workshops to all year groups; every year group performed a poem they had created at the end of their workshop.
Year 4 enjoyed singing songs they have learned as part of their singing programme with Derby Cathedral Music for parents and grandparents.
They are looking froward to the opportunity to sing at Derby Cathedral on June 19th.
Our BIG READ event started yesterday. Each teacher showed the book they will be focusing in class in the whole school assembly.

Mrs Missin was presented with her Long Service Award this morning. She has worked for 25 years for Derbyshire County Council, all of them at Melbourne Junior School.

Thanks to Melbourne Rugby Club, pupils in Year 5 and 6 received training sessions in Tag Rugby this week. Year 3 adn 4 are looking forward to their sessions next week.
