Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Year 5 enjoyed a great few days doing 'Bikeability' level 1 training.
As we move into the second week of our BIG READ event, the children completed the Reading Relay today. When the 'book baton' appeared at a classroom door, the children (and staff) had to stop everything and read! This meant that there was someone reading somewhere in MJS at every moment of the day - that's a total of 6 hours and 40 minutes!
The BIG READ EVENT is back! At MJS we know how important reading is to our children and this event provides even more opportunities to celebrate.
Each year group is completing a book study and the books were revealed in a special assembly. We have book trails, quizzes and competitions, Extreme Reading and Book in a Box, for the children to enter. The Masked Reader was back by popular demand.
On World Book Day, the theme was 'you as a reader'. The children and staff chose how they wanted to join in: by dressing up as a book character, writing clues, making props or simply bringing in their favourite book to share.
We also shared stories with our infant friends.
